Evolving the build
The daily dev log did exactly what it was for. Slowing the broadcast down is what it now takes to speed the building up.
When I first started documenting this, the goal was simple. Show up every single day and share the raw reality of building a software studio from the ground up.
The daily docuseries was a way to keep myself accountable, to build in public, and to connect with other people navigating the same chaotic waters of tech and product design.
For the first leg of it, that rapid-fire cadence was exactly what I needed. Lately, things have shifted.
As the software matures, the demands of the studio have evolved right alongside it. Behind the scenes, the workload has grown exponentially. Between pushing our flagship, Sanctuary, over the finish line, mapping out new tools like Thermal and Cut, and laying the overarching groundwork for Martori Core, I have hit a point where the day to day development demands my absolute, undivided focus.
It is the best kind of problem to have, but it is a problem nonetheless.
Growth forces you to re-evaluate how you spend your time. For a while, putting out a daily dev log felt essential. Now, stepping away from that daily output is what is genuinely necessary to scale.
It was always part of the plan to eventually reach a stage where the workload required me to put my head down. We are finally here.
To build something meaningful, to make sure this ecosystem functions exactly the way it needs to, sometimes you have to slow down the broadcast to speed up the actual development.
The same week, spent differently
Seven posts a week, and the building squeezed into whatever the camera left behind. It kept me honest, and then it stopped fitting.
Moving forward, the content on this site and across my channels is going to mirror the maturity of the studio itself. I am shifting my focus entirely to quality over quantity.
Instead of standard, step by step daily tutorials, I want to share deeper dives. The hard pivots. The architecture decisions. The bigger picture of what it actually takes to build and scale this suite of products. Every video, essay, and update going forward needs to be high value and entirely worth your time.
I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has tuned in for the daily updates, joined the Discord, and supported this wild experiment so far. The community we are building is something I do not take for granted.
We are still building in public. I will still be streaming, and I will still be in the Discord.
The work has not stopped. It is just growing up.
I cannot wait to share this next, elevated era of the studio with you.
Brian
The head-down stretch has a shape, and it is already on the page. Sanctuary heading for the finish line, Thermal and Cut taking form, and the groundwork underneath all of it.
See what is being builtThe camera is not going off, it is slowing down. The Discord is where the conversation lives, and the day to day still runs on TikTok and Instagram.
The studio writes as it builds. If something here maps onto a problem you are carrying, the practice is how we work with people, and the Sketch will draw you a first roadmap in about a minute.
