what martori studio is

Martori is a studio in the older sense of the word. A place where things are made slowly, with intention, by someone who cares how they turn out. The work happens to be software.

It is run by one non-technical founder, from an apartment in Germantown, Nashville, building an entire portfolio alone. The name is a surname on purpose, so the work carries personal accountability rather than a faceless brand.

The whole thing is built in public. The daily process lives on TikTok at @martori.studio, a docuseries that doubles as the studio's warming engine and its clearest argument: the tools to build real software are in reach now, and one person with taste and persistence can ship things that matter. The legal entity is SanctuaryApp, Inc., a Delaware C Corp.

the dual engine

Martori runs on two engines that feed each other.

consulting and custom builds are the primary business. the portfolio is the proof.

The practice is the revenue engine. Martori sells custom builds, brand and positioning, and full zero-to-one engagements. This is where the money is made.

The portfolio is the second engine. Nine products across three groupings exist as proof of work and a sales asset. They show a prospective client what one studio can build alone. The flywheel is simple: the products prove the practice, and the practice funds the products.

This order is settled doctrine. Every decision about time, money, and attention answers to it.

the manifesto

Martori builds for people in the hardest seasons of their lives, because the founder has been in several of them. Heartbreak, grief, recovery, and the shock of losing work are not market research here. They are lived, and the products carry that honesty.

The voice that comes from this is warm and unguarded. It does not perform expertise or sell transformation. It sits beside a person rather than instructing them. This is the register of every Martori surface.

Nearly every product carries a named companion, and every companion is a bird. Beneath them all runs one law.

the first law: no companion is built to increase engagement.

No streaks, no loss aversion, no nudge designed against a person's own interest. The birds are presences, not growth mechanics, and that restraint is the studio's signature across every world.

Datum's exception. Datum's intelligence is the Auditor, a deliberate departure from the bird convention that fits its clinical, sovereign character. Whether a bird also belongs there is an open question.

the canon

One typeface. Hanken Grotesk, weights 400 to 800, across every product and every document. No exceptions, ever. Prior faces are retired for good.

The mark. The Martori gate, a torii, is the canonical studio mark. It is the name's own meaning made visible, the right symbol for a studio of threshold products.

Color. Clay is the studio signature, and clay is precious. It is used with discipline, never as a wash.

One ground. Every surface is dark-first, each in its own tint, the studio's own book included. The set is one unified system read many ways. The earlier bone-and-ink inversion is retired.

The three bans. No em dashes. No exclamation points. No wellness language. Every surface names the body and the feeling plainly, never in the vocabulary of self-care marketing.

the practice

The consulting practice is the front door of the business, and it is built to be trusted on sight.

How the work goes. Listen, then name, then build, then tend. It starts with a free conversation and moves at the client's pace.

Flat-rate, no lock-in. The Listening is free. A Build Day is a flat day rate, sites run in the low four figures, an MVP in the mid four to five figures, and a full SaaS build above that. No retainers, no lock-in, prices in the open.

thermal is the practice's one productized service.

Thermal is the proof and the pitch in one object. The studio runs it on its own products, which is the argument for letting it run on a client's. Lark meets visitors on the practice page. The site carries a dual path, the work to see and the studio to hire, with the founder's background from Amazon, VML, and The Tombras Group made visible as credibility.

the road

The studio moves on individual readiness gates, not a shared launch date. This is the studio's trajectory, above any single product's roadmap. Dates are working targets, held loosely. The old shared september launch is retired.
